- Your employer is "Treasury Board" and your department/agency is "Department of Employment and Social Development Canada"
- Your local is 621
Everything else is your personal information which you should know! Please use your personal e-mail address to keep your union business separate from the employer.
The easiest way is either through the contact form on this website or by emailing us at ceiulocal621@gmail.com. You can also speak to any of your executive team or shop stewards if you see them in office - just remember to do your best to not use your work email or MS Teams to conduct union business!
Union dues primarily support essential functions such as negotiating and maintaining collective agreements, providing member services like grievance handling and legal support, funding organizing efforts and outreach, covering administrative costs, and offering training and educational programs for members. These dues ensure the union can effectively represent and support its members, advocate for workplace protections, and promote collective interests in the labor market.
Our union executive generally meets every 2 weeks, and twice yearly we have an Annual General Meeting (AGM) where all members may join and vote on our by-laws or executive members.
When you have a grievance, the union steps in to support you. They provide guidance on your rights under the collective agreement, help gather evidence, and represent you in discussions with your employer. The goal is to resolve the issue fairly and uphold your rights and workplace standards. Union representatives may negotiate directly with management, file formal grievances if needed, and advocate on your behalf through all stages of the grievance process, aiming for a satisfactory resolution.
